My Gordon family lived in the townlands of Tullanadall and Glashygolgan which are in Parish of Badoney Upper from at least 1740. Other Gordon families who lived in the townlands of Ballyskeagh,Ballee and Silverhill may be distant relations. Records indicate that they were in the area from about 1690. In 1798 Aaron Gordon from Ballyskeagh leased a substantial farm for his son Robert Gordon in the townland of Stragullin from the Marquis of Abercorn. Two other Gordon families lived in the townland of Edymore, one of which may have moved from Ballee. The other family at Edymore moved from County Donegal sometime around 1890.There was also Gordon families who owned property and various business in Strabane and also connected to the Ballyskeagh/Ballee Gordons. Gordon families also lived in townlands around Castlecaufield, Casltlederg, Dungannon, Cookstown, Drumquin and Ballygawley. Research carried out in 1909 indicates that some of these Gordons may have lived in these areas from about 1680.

Our Moffatt family lived in the Convoy/Raphoe area from at least 1788.Although they were mainly   farmers, members of the family diversified into a general hardware store in Raphoe.Connections of this family also lived in the Drumquin area and members of both families emigrated to Australia and the United States of America.

Our Adair ancestors have been living in the Gortin and Newtownstewart area for a relatively short period of time although Adair families have been living in Clogher and Fintona for a longer time frame. It is possible that our Adair families may have their origins in the Strabane area. Donegal is also a possibility.

The Kilpatrick family have lived in the townland of Carnargan for. Records from Corrick Abbey Cemetery suggests that family ancestors lived in the area from at least 1770. Other Kilpatrick families lived in the area  around Strabane and in County Donegal.

The Warnock family lived around the Gortin area of County Tyrone. Records show that they were living the district from at least 1845. There is information to a marriage of William Warnock which apparently took place at Cappagh Parish Church in 1755 and the married couple emigrated to North America.

The Hamilton families have lived in the townlands of Droit and Woodbrook which are located close to the town of Newtownstewart. Headstone inscriptions indicate that the Hamilton family lived in the area since 1719. Members of later generations also emigrated to North America and Australia.

The Fulton name was very popular in the locations around Newtownstewart and Strabane. Families lived in the townlands of Droit, Woodbrook, Legfordrum,Beagh, Edymore and also owned various businesses in the town of Newtownstewart. Although I have linked some of the Fulton families, more research would be required to complete their family tree. Some of the Fultons from Woodbrook and Newtownstewart emigrated to the United States and other family members went to Australia.

The Monteith families have lived in the townlands of Shannony East, Tullyherin, Carnargan and Lisnatunny. Although we are primary interested in the family who lived in Shannony East,it is now a fact that all these Monteith families have a common ancestor. Other families related to the Monteith family who lived at Shannony East include the Boggs and Shaw families who lived at Legfordrum, Strabane. The earliest Monteith living in these townlands is Robert Monteith circa 1775.They may also related to a Monteith family who lived in Lislap East.
